Since 1959, A Community Christmas (ACC), a local non-profit organization, has been supplying Christmas aid to needy Stark County children, families, disabled individuals and senior citizens with food vouchers, gift cards, toys/gifts, books, clothing and household items.
800+ VOLUNTEERS WORKED 4,925+ HOURS to successfully run all 2024 ACC programs; 151 ACC volunteers worked 3,175 hours, and 457+ additional volunteers worked over 1,750 hours shopping for the 275 Adopt-A-Families and Mitten Tree items; plus, 5 local eateries generously donated food for our working ACC volunteers.
$52,959.87 in FOOD VOUCHERS, GIFT CARDS and TAXABLE ITEMS was spent on Stark County families, children, senior citizens and disabled adults to ensure the less fortunate had a merrier Christmas.
11,523+ ITEMS COLLECTED including 7,039 hats, gloves and scarves, 1,631 clothing items and over 2,853 taxable grocery items not covered by food stamps (toiletries, paper products, soap, towels, wipes, etc.) to distribute through the Giving Center and to the community.
7,100+ INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED ASSISTANCE- 3,320 children and adults were given aid (food vouchers, gift cards, toys/gifts, clothing and toiletries) through ACC’s Giving Center and Adopt-A-Family programs; and at least 3,782 children and adults received hats or gloves through the Mitten Tree program.
29,527+ TOYS & GIFTS were distributed to Stark County individuals, including senior citizens and disabled adults; 9,410 toys, stocking stuffers, books, stuffed animals and bikes came from the Marine Toys for Tots program, over 6,000 gifts were donated for Adopt-A-Families, and ACC provided 2,594 gift cards and food vouchers and 11,523 clothing and taxable grocery items.
$78,498 in DONATIONS – $40,750 from 9 grants and foundations, and $37,748 from individuals, churches and businesses ensured that every family and individual submitting a qualified application received assistance from ACC and were able to enjoy their Christmas season.
